Dear family and friends,
By now, most of you have probably heard that our son Nicholas (Nick) has been taken from his duties in Germany and has been sent to join our troops in Kuwait. As a mother of five children this has got to be the most difficult, and helpless thing I have had to experience. Even though I have spent most of my life in the military, nothing could have prepared me to have to send my child to war. As you can imagine, This time is a very difficult and emotional time for us as we wait and watch what will happen. I know you all share in this concern for Nick and unfortunately we are all unable to rally together for each other. I am hoping by keeping in touch with you all and letting you all know what I hear we can perhaps form our own support system. Nick has grown into a wonderful young man and we could not be any prouder of him. He is very loving and devoted to his family and friends. He has trained hard and has achieved excellence as a Military Police and sharpshooter and he is a great soldier. Nick and our the other military troops need our support and prayers right now as they go to war and face all the uncertainty of what is ahead of them. I know that many may not believe what we are doing, but we must put that aside and be there for those who are making a stand for our country and other helpless countries. I received a call from Nick this morning, he called to tell me he was heading out with the ground troops and we may not hear from him for awhile. He was unable to give me details, due to security reasons. I promise I will keep you all updated as information comes to me. Things have been happening quickly for him and he doesn't have an address there yet. If you write to him at his address in Germany they will be sure to forward it to him. |

In case any of you do not have his address, here it is; SPC Nicholas Vertz 230th MP. CO (C.M.R 422 Box 690) APO AE 09067 |

If you get a chance, just drop him a short note sometime .I am sure that receiving a
letter from "home" will mean a lot to him if not now surely upon his return.
I will keep in touch and ask that you just say a prayer for "my boy". God Bless and take care, Love, Robin |
