Our Next Wedding Anniversary
|

Since being forced into early retirement OMA and OPA enjoy strolling in
Colorado's abundant parks and soaking in the beautiful mountain scenery
while visiting Cripple Creek, Black Hawk or Silver City.. and whenever
possible we are either visiting or being visited by our thirteen grand
children and our Four Great-Grand Children in Virginia and Two in Florida. We also try to squeeze as many
trips as we can into visiting our many friends and relatives in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota,
Oregon, Texas, the "UP" of Michigan and Wisconsin.

OPA (Grandpa) = Louis J Lawver Sr., was born 27 Oct 1942 in Ironwood, Michigan and raised in the Best Town in Northern Wisconsin, FIFIELD.
I left on Nov 9, 1959 to join the U.S. Army
where I spent the next twenty-two years serving my Country.
I served two tours, 65-67 and 68-69, in Vietnam and was medically evacuated
on both occasions due to hostile fire. I also spent seventeen years in the
European Theatre, in
Fed. Rep. of W. Germany where just prior to
completing my first tour 1960 to 1965, I was very fortunate and lucky enough to
Meet and happily Marry my Best Friend and Lover,
Fraulein Sofie
Dulinska of W. Germany.
We raised five great Children,
a Girl and four Boys, who are now grown and raising our beloved
Grandkids in Arizona, Georgia, Florida, and Texas. After retiring from the US Army
I worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Gillette and Cheyenne, Wyoming
and also Managed a Book Store in Colorado Springs, CO while awaiting my return to working for the Government,
with The US Postal Service, where after fifteen years I was forced to again retire due to medical
and physical problems spawning from my duties in Viet-Nam.

OMA (Grandma)= Sofie R (Dulinska) Lawver was born on 15 May 1944
in Hohenwort, W. Germany.
I was an only child, as my father died in WWII,
and for that reason after our marriage Lou applied for sponsorship of my
Mother Helena Dulinska aka Great "OMA", and by the grace of "GOD"
and generosity of the United States of
America.
it was approved and our
OMA came to America with us in 1974 and returned with us to Germany for our last
overseas tour in 1975. She returned with us upon Lou's return to retire and she became a
permanent resident of the US at that time.
On 12 April l996 on the saddest day of our life,
OMA succumbed to Alzheimer's
to become an Angel in the Lords House. "GOD BLESS HER"
Amen!.
